you know it! ... the mouse over game ... ; )

ok, ok ... i know, i know ... texture tuesday was yesterday ... and i totally missed it ... sorry sorry ...

but i did have this done and ready to post, but time slipped away on me ...

but i have to say, dear kim ...

having a final fitting and picking up twin b's tux this morning has this whole grad thing sinking in ... deep ...

getting just a bit giddy here!

oh! and a quick story to tell about this morning's jaunt before i get to how i cooked up this image:

we were heading along the trans canada, homeward bound ...

you can tell summer is here, as the hitchhikers start sticking out their thumbs ...

i admire this mode of transportation, although i would never ever do it myself - hiker or picker ...

but this morning's hiker wins the prize of prizes ...

i was SO sorry we were in such a hurry as i SO wanted to take his picture ...

he was PICKING A BANJO while waiting on the roadside for his ride ...

WOOT! i gave him berth ... honked my horn exuberantly and gave him thumbs up ...

and he, in turn gave us a GREAT big grin ...

it was an AWESOME sight!

and then, at the very next intersection a construction truck was sitting, waiting to turn onto the road ...

the driver had this mass of curly hair under his cap ... big goofy glasses ...

and he was singing at the top of his lungs!

twin b and i were roaring with laughter ... summer is definitely in the air today!

sorry. this is getting way too long.  i told you i am getting giddy!

***

right! the recipe ...

first off, i have to let you know that on saturday when hb and i were working on the siding of my studio, i took an image of the crackled paint of the siding ... thinking it was a pretty cool texture ... so, that is what i used for texture in this image!

. background image (backside/underneath view of a lupin) adjusted brightness/contrast
    - boosted brightness +94 . boosted contrast +32
. adjusted curves slightly
. added my 'siding texture' . multiply blending . 82% opacity . layer mask brushing out flower & greenery
. added a layer of colour - soft beige . saturation 100% . layer mask softly brushing out flower & greenery

ta da!

ok ... i'll quit talking now ...

um, i sure hope you share your morning with our friends ... ALL of it!

I just l.o.v.e. the mouse overs. Really. love them. And? the recipe part. I would have no idea how you did that, or how to try that. I have struggled w/PSE for a couple of years, and am just beginning to be able to work it. {still using PSE4, aaaak} The difference is just amazing. thank you so much for sharing this.
