mouse mouse

happy texture tuesday, dear kim!

ok, before you think i've gone off my rocker ... er, slipped off my throne ... (someone get the cane) ...

i just want to say that i was completely out of my mind excited to use your new textures today
for this very image ... i mean ... what better to go with white and black&white than the loo?

and why on earth do i have a loo image?

well, it just seemed to be the natural image to follow my coffee image ...

huh?

just part of the mortal muses weekly challenge i was telling you about ... happening over in flickrland ...

between this and your super duper inspiration stay.cation, i think my head is going to topple!

mind blowing!

whoa.

but before it does, here is the recipe ...

. one image of a loo ; )
. slight curve adjustments
. one magnificent black and white texture layer . luminosity . 39% opacity
. one layer of pure white . luminosity. 52% opacity . layer mask ~ brush out bits . gauze pattern overlay tweaked

that's a wrap!

thank you thank you thank you for creating these remarkable textures ...

your magic in these creations just add such a new dimension to well, creating!

cheers to you and all you do!

hey there girlie.... how are you?

do you remember the beautiful lilacs?  we waited so long for them to open....and they did, and they were so amazing.....  i miss them!!

but i dug in the archives and found a few 100 pics of them....and that made me HAPPY.

so, i used one of my new 2 for textures on this image......

here's the scoop.

desaturated this image (yep again)
a levels adjustment
then i added the new texture 'black & white' at multiply 88%
then i duplicated the base layer....pulled it up on top of my layer's palette....
and that was that.......

happy tuesday pg and anyone else who may be dropping in..... waving hi!!

xxo, kim

good late late evening, kim!

omgoodness, i can't believe how hard you have been working on your stay.cation project ...
and how happy you must be to have officially 'given birth' to this baby ... woot! congratulations!!

i just wanted to share a bit about the wedding this weekend ...

the above image is the setting for the wedding ... at the wishing well ... at the beautiful lake
in the national park ... oh so very close to us!

and, with all this talk about playing harp and weddings and all, i thought i ought to include a pic of me in action (well, maybe a bit too much action ~ hb has caught me jibbering about something ... : )

i thought beth and tammy lee would like to see me (i did it, beth!), and my harp (a little irish one, tammy!) ...

there is so so much history in this park ...

including the dance hall ~ all log and so nostalgic ...

in the early days, it was home to big band dances ...

and it truly held magic for this lucky bride and groom on their very special night ...
(this is the bride and her dad, and the groom and his mom dancing amidst the lights ... )

and a very sweet touch to the evening and celebration were these beautiful little jars of homemade raspberry jam ...

delightful flavours for each of the guests to savour ...

lovingly prepared by the bride and her mom!

i have a couple of more things to add to this post, but will do so in the morning (eep! it IS morning! ; ) ...

so, i'll return to add some links et al ...

hope you are resting well tonight ...

sweetest 2bbb and stay.cation dreams!

love,

i have to say i was a little stressed this weekend...
the reality of it all, hit me.....
but, i feel good now.

i can't believe all the stay-cation LOVE out there.

i'm sooo excited.

i hope your weekend went well....
sorry i've been a little out of the loopity loop.....

miss you!  xxo, kim

well, kim ...

here it is ~ the last day of july ~ already ...

wow ...

i am just trying to avoid remembering that i did see a baby cricket the other day when mowing grass ...

once they start chirping, we know we are sliding into the last months of summer ...

but!

it is not over yet ... lots of vacation time left ... lots of time for stay.cation!

{sorry ... i am just too excited about all of that ... }

anyways ... yesterday mare and i had a lovely day popping into shops at the lake, but my most favourite one of all is on the way to the lake ...

the old church ...

an old country church that has been lovingly rescued and restored into this most fabulous clay studio | gift shop | ice cream patio and generally peaceful and inspiring place to be ... : )

i thought it was most fitting to use your amazing new 'peace baby' texture for this teapot tower that owner | operator | potter jeff bettle created as just one of the very cool art pieces that greets you as you make your way through his gardens to the church ...

every turn is a feast ~ a FEAST i tell you for the eyes and senses ...

and oh, so very peaceful ...

mmmmmmm ...

well, off i go to get ready to play my harp at the 'last' wedding of the summer ...

cross your fingers my strings don't melt in this heat! *wink*

wow.man.cool.groovy.neat.right.on* ... peace ~

* a little ditty i always say to my boys when something is really cooooool ... : )

OH! and it is fun to follow the old church on facebook!
