hey girlie

oh my gosh, just sooo loving your grubby stills today... very inspiring....
wonderful work and fabulous explanation....

love your treasures... truly....

it's so funny how you are drawn to the darker textures...  i love that...

okay so my mom and dad pulled out their metal cupid birdbath from our shed today...
when you go by, check out all the landscaping going on in their yard... wow... really nice.

so mom had it sitting in my yard... and wanted me to look up a way to clean it....
and the whole time i am thinking 'clean it?'... what for?
it's aged and weathered and the patina is fab! but i bit my tongue...
cause you know my mom and i have different opinions about that kind of thing...right... :)

so she headed home to grab my dad and his muscles...
and i grabbed the camera to take a pic before they shine cupid up....
insert 'smile'

okay so here's my little recipe...

gradient map black and white conversion normal blending mode.
gradient map black and white screen blending mode 35%
solid color overlay in copper shade soft light 100%
new texture 'flyspattered' ( won't my mom love that name... haha)... soft light 100%
another layer of 'flyspattered' color burn 33%.

.... the end...

oh i'm sharing the high res version of the flyspattered texture with my list peeps....
coming to your mailbox soon...
check the texture out HERE.

as per our earlier conversation...
gotta go... get 'er done... QUICK. :)

xxo, kim

Posted a picture to Flickr using this EXACT recipe. Much better than my first try. Thank you for sharing. Tam

Oh, I love your version, and I love the patina...oh well, you have to let moms have their way sometimes, right?
Beautiful, as always!
