happy t.t. mon cher ~

are you rested up after your rather crazy evening?

i seriously was tired reading all the things you did in that short time!

soooooo ... i've been playing here with your textures ... looking for different effects and decided i needed to post two images with before and afters (mouse over s'il vous plait) ... to show the difference in applications ...

(you know how i love stones ... they are everywhere in our home and outside ... and now hb is bringing me home all sorts of shapes and sizes from his runs in the valley ~ a bit of love each time ... :)

the above image recipe ~
. slight curve adjustments on background image
. added your 'patinaornate' texture (L O V E)
  -  luminosity blending, 73% opacity, layer mask with slight brushing out
. added yet another 'patinaornate' layer
  -  overlay blending, 30% opacity, layer mask with slight brushing out (is that good terminology?)
. and yet again ~ one more 'patinaornate' layer
  -  overlay blending, 73% opacity as i really wanted the warmth boosted and to keep the very cool writing and edging ... layer mask with slight brushing out again of the main pieces i wanted to keep in focus ~ the rock, stones and patty pan edges ... :)

i was happy enough, but wanted to play more ... (look what you done to me, mrs. textures! ;)

so ...

okay ... this one has a few more steps ....

. curve adjustments to background layer
. hue/saturation ~ basically taking all colour away
. added your 'frosted' texture, soft overlay, 100%
. added your 'patinaornate' texture again, but wasn't wanting to pull the edges up, just the colour and overall texture ~ overlay, 30% opacity
. another 'patinaornate', overlay, 73%
. added your awesome 'whitewash' texture, multiply, 100%
. chose the cool green colour from your texture and added a layer of that 'green', soft light, 100% plus a dark coarse weave pattern overlay ...
. on all layers there were layer masks to remove some texture from the focal points

phew ~ now i AM tired!

i seem to lean towards the dark side with textures ... maybe it is all this heavy baroque classical music i am listening to ...

really looking forward to seeing what magic you create today ...

for now ~

I so get what you mean, this whole texture thing is addicting! I love them both, but yes, I think I like the second just a bit better...I also have a thing for stones, they are all over my house, and that is always what I bring home as a souvenir when I go places, I even brought one back from Germany years ago...

That is cool. What a fun way to play. An artist is a professional child, didn't you know?
