i spoke with kim late yesterday and she is still so down and out sick ~ our poor girl ...
gosh, we miss her so ~ don't we? *nodding* ... xo
anyways, kim and i chatted and decided we are bursting to tell you something ...
some thrilling and humbling and exciting news to share ...
and kim said i ought to go ahead and make the announcement ...
as you know, kim's café is featured in this summer's edition of stampington's artful blogging ...

we are 'over the moon' honoured and blessed to be a part of this magnificent publication amidst
pages upon pages of artful bloggers from every part of the planet!
kim introduced me to the stampington & company publications and i was wow'd immediately at the beauty and quality of these magazines ...
once in my hands, i couldn't gobble one up fast enough ... and being a graphic artist, there were lots of oooo's and aaaaah's about the brilliant layout ... :)
but more importantly, artful blogging and all the other somerset studio publications are about ever expanding the community for stampers, crafters, artisans and dreamers ... it's the like-minded people you 'meet' in these magazines that truly make one's heart sing and give continuous inspirational lifts ...
thank you, stampington, oh-so-much, for including us ...

here's what i did with this shot ... (mouse over for before and after) ...
i just wanted to give this image more of that vintage appeal so, nothing complicated today!
. slight curve adjustments on background
. i knew your 'quartz' texture was ideal for this ...
added two layers of 'quartz', multiply blend both, layer mask both brushing out here and there
. added your 'vintage' overlay, soft light
and that's it!
hope you are being a good girl and sticking to doctor's orders so you will be all better real soon ... miss you madly ... xo

Congratulations! I am a graphic artist, too, and that is actually how I discovered blogging, I just happened to discover an issue of Artful Blogging at Barnes and Noble one day...I have been hooked on all of their publications ever since. I can't wait to get a copy of the new one!
