hi honey ...
well, i sure missed out yesterday ...
missed being here to see your wonderful art work and quote and words ... thank you and yes, i truly believe we all will be okay ... xo
missed talking with my niece, bee on her birthday ~ i don't think i have missed one in her thirty-one years! ... :(
but i did spend a lot of time with my mom yesterday ...
in the morning, my brother and i listened as she conveyed her concerns of her growing dementia ...
she is getting 'lost' in her own home these days and feels she needs to seek professional help ...
but the stigma of 'seeing someone' and people finding out, upsets her more than being 'lost' ~ lost just frustrates her ...
after much reassurance and a few phone calls, we are all relieved to say she will be visiting a mental health care worker and psychiatrist ... to help lighten the darkness ...
it is so important to talk openly about mental health issues ~ no matter the age or circumstance ...
like i said to mom ... people would want to know and care for you if you had a broken leg ... and they will certainly want to care for you with a broken head ... sometimes they don't know how to the same, but that's why we need to talk about it more and more and more ... :)
i spent the rest of the day getting her flower baskets and bedding plants planted and in place ...
everything set near windows so she can view easily ...
she seemed so content and happy when i left after supper ... it was a good day after all and i wouldn't have missed it for the world ...
***
now, today i have been feeling like creating ...
a little story, if you would like, about the inspiration for today's image over at my studio ...
um, speaking of inspiration ... i am so agreeing with our friend elk's comment recently at your café ... 'i cannot keep up with your wonderful artistic life' ... gosh girl, you make me dizzy!!
toodle.loo for now love ~

dementia has always been a big fear of mine as i worked in the long term care field for a number of years. it's so hard on the patient and the family. so i'm praying for you and yours as your mother struggles with her illness.
So sorry your mom is having these issues. You are right to encourage some type of professional intervention. Much can be done to slow the progression. My dad is 84 and he basically has no short term memory now past about 2 minutes. He is so good natured about it though. The only good thing about it is that he can't remember that he forgets everything:) I love him!
What a stunning breathtaking image! So sorry to hear about your mom, my dad seems to be just starting to have some of these issues too, and it is so hard and scary to watch him go through it.
You hang in there, and take care of yourself as well...
