happy texture tuesday, kim!

*boing*   *boing*    *boing*

that's just me jumping up and down about your fantastic new 'bakers dozen plus 3' texture collection!

may i just say, mrs. klassen you have baked up an excellent batch ... woot!

right away ... right away i knew i loved 'the wall' one in particular and just had to try it ...

so here it is with my little birdhouse in the apple tree image ~

. i took down the hue | saturation and boosted the lightness in the background image
. adjusted the curves slightly
. added your fab 'the wall' texture, overlay blending, 40% opacity ~ layer mask soft fading brush everything but the roof
. added another 'the wall' layer, overlay blending, 100%
. to add light, i added another fab of yours ~ 'white wash', color blending ~ layer mask soft fading brush here and there

please do tell ~ is there anything different or something more you would have done here?

i wanted to lighten it up, but maybe because it is so cool outside (and in the studio), i felt i wanted to keep it warmer ...

speaking of warmth ~ have you turned the heat on yet in your studio?

i am trying so hard not to, but my fingers are frozen for goodness sake!

thanks so much for all your hard work and creativity ... i keep thinking of all the folks who are out there playing with your textures ~ your work letting all our creativity flow ... :)

cheerio for now love!

ps. (recognize the house? the ones all our boys 'through the years' made in school? somehow it is managing to stay in the tree despite these w i n d s ... my word!)

Wow, what beautiful texture work, pg! You and Kim never cease to amaze me. Wish I could give you a little of the incredibly hot weather we're having. I broke down and turned on the AC today!

Sending you both big hugs! xoxo g

oh my goodness... how perfect!! and yes please.... warm us up!! love this sweet little bird house!

good grief... i'm frozen.... remember my heated blanket, the one i had on my studio chair this winter? well i'm debating on pulling it out. what the heck?

good news is... the shingles that blew off our roof are under warranty about to 145km/hr winds.... woo hoo... they are coming to repair them today. but yikes...that's scary on a steep roof like ours. i will not be watching them up there... no siree... not sure how strong the winds have been...but i think it's getting close to the shingle warranty limit... :)

okay, so turn on the heat or pull out the blanket? hmmmmm

xxo, kim

I think it is just perfect the way it is! And I am in love with Kim's new textures, I am cheating on her old ones with them just a little, so don't tell...one of these days I will marry one from the old group and one from the new group in the same photo and then it will all be out in the open.
As always, beautiful...
