the little things....
oh, my word..
thank you christina for visiting here today. much love to you!
i was over on your blog this morning. and your posting "for the love of daughters and friday" with the amazing image of your daughter...wow... can i just say WOW?
incredible image and words...
i have not so secretly longed for a daughter. i live in a house of boys.
sometimes it is a little lonely.
heck, even my dogs a boy... :)
i wouldn't change a thing...
but yes, i wish i had a girl around here...
i so appreciate when brett's girlfriend, alannah visits.
we can chat away, like only girls can.
but with all that said... there are times when i am pleasantly surprised..
times when i stop and say to myself...oh my, they do get me. these boys do get it!!
the rocks above are a part of one of those moments.
a few weeks ago i was taking a bunch of pics of some river rocks i purchased at michaels....
using my new macro lens.
i didn't show the pics to anyone around here. i did share them on my blog though.
i didn't even think anyone was around when i was photographing them.
the other day, i walked into my studio, and sitting right beside my computer were the 3 rocks in the above image.
they are bryce's rocks. he bought them on a field trip to a little town with a rock shop ... years ago.
they have been on his shelf all this time. lovely polished rocks...i had forgotten all about them.
i guess he saw them there and thought, mom will like these and quietly set them here for me to discover.
a few days later, he asked if i found the rocks, and if i had taken a pic of them..... "sigh"
be still my heart... thank you bryce for "getting it"...
thank you God for that moment of recognition.
thank you for the little things....
pg, waving hi...hugs to you and yours...
talk soon.... ♥kim

What a treat to discover two of my favorite women, Christina and Robin, over here visiting with two more of my favorite women, pg and Kim! So much talent on one beautiful blog! I loved the posts and the pictures. You gals have given me just the boost of inspiration I need as I dive into finishing a big writing project this weekend.
Oh, and Kim, the story about your son and the river rocks made me melt. What a guy!
Wishing you all a beautiful weekend. xo Gigi
Oh my goodness, I secretly dream for a girl all the time. I was surprised when my husband "got me" today and offered to take me on a drive to take pics. Granted he was going to go fishing too, but he did let me take all the pics I wanted without rushing me. That doesn't happen everyday.
Yes, I understand, I live with mostly boys, I have a step-daughter but she is grown and lives 3 hours away...it is so nice when they extend their hand in a sweet little gesture...did you ever think that getting a rock could be so nice?
the rocks story touched my heart ..he "got " it indeed!
oh kim ... i have an immense case of the warm and fuzzies after reading about bryce leaving the rocks for you ... he does ... he does 'get it' ... *S I G H* ...
i have a feeling i chaperoned that rock shop trip with our boys ... now i have two wonderful memories ... the trip ~ and bryce leaving the rocks for you to discover ... beautiful.
thanks always for the hugs and well wishes ... it means so much...
