i agree with robin's comment over at your makeover monday ...

your textures are magic!

and this image of mine is a prime example ...

the evening when the light was perfect to catch this little run-off stream, my batteries pooped and i missed the shot ...

it was vibrant with contrasting dark, scorched grass and bright, clear water ...

when i did get back to take a photo, the light was poopy ...

do you see a theme here? ... *giggle* ...

how to take this rather dull image and make it pop like it should?

simply add the magic of your 'history' texture!

here's the scoop ...

. curve adjustments on background image
. add cooling photo filter to bring back the colour of the water
. add history texture layer ~ multiply ~ 100% opacity
. add layer mask and remove texture from water
. wisp out grass highlights in layer mask with various brush opacity and flow

please note: when you mouse over to see the before and after, you will see i placed a teeny version of your history texture in the corner of my original image ~ i thought it might help our friends to see which texture was being used!

i am learning how important it is to choose the texture that will enhance your image most ...

that's why i like the diversity of your collection so much!

how has your day of quiet been?

getting lots accomplished?

loving the sun today!
