today, our farmer neighbour is tilling the field and gosh, does the turned earth smell good!

one of the first signs of spring around here is my hearty little scilla siberica ~ blue squills ...

often they poke up through the last bit of snow, but this year the white stuff vanished very quickly!

i took this the other morning after an overnight shower ...
