so i will get on with my recipe.... as it's time to feed the masses.

if you mouse over you will notice the lilacs took a slightly different shape in the after. 
i used a layer mask and reshaped the lilacs slightly.
i also used the dodge tool to even out the background.
then i simply added 2 textures from the baker's dozen plus 3...
'frosted' at multiply 62% (removed the texture from the jar and lilacs)
white wash at softlight 100%.

that's it.... 

i have a few new makeovers on my blog as well....  both involve lilacs.. lol...
i'm lovin the lilacs.. that's for sure.

okay, i think i hear some forks banging... yeesh... people are so impatient.

well, i could not help but share a blossom image today.  i am in love with the spring blossoms. 
it's just too much. :)

so here's the scoop.

i simply did a levels adjustment on this image, to bump down the grey's.
then i added an ivory fill layer ~ soft light blending mode 44%
then i added my 'zen thing' texture ~ screen blending mode at 55%

that's it... :)

can you believe this newest treasure...that found it's way to my doorstep?

well, not quite....it didn't actually come knockin....  but almost.

my aunt, had a garage sale on the weekend.  i had no idea...nobody told me.  ugh...

but, my mom and dad went and helped out....

and well, this lovely specimen was just waiting to to be rescued....

my mom doesn't like it!  she said the rust makes her kinda sick... lol...

but it was only 50 cents... so she thought she might as well see what i thought...

it's an antique baby scale!  seriously, could it be any more fabulous?

imagine the photoshoot possiblities.

i don't think i could have been given a more extraordinary mother's day gift!

i'm just catching up on a bit of this and a bit of that.

it feels good.

plus i'm making room to actually paint. 

i seem to have stacks of paper and books on every flat surface of the studio.

something has to give. :) 

anyhow

i decided this week that i would work away at photographing the treasures we've been so blessed by.

i believe this old bottle is from the farm.  john rescued it.

if john were here he would remember...

we have also found some lovely old bottles at carols.

so as i type this i am wondering? the farm? or carols?  hmmmm. :)

such simple loveliness.

i'm so thankful for the antiques that have just found their way here...

oh yah, that was some day...  yikes...

in fact as soon as i post this up andy and i are running away to the trail.  'sigh'
 
here's my recipe.
i desaturated this image of the peaceful tree
then i added a little sepia tone back in.
then i added a layer of my distress texture on soft light
next a layer of the history texture also on soft light
next a fill layer of warm brown. 
and finally i used my grunge clipping mask to create the grubby edges. 
 
i'm afraid, my friend it's pretty dull compared to your amazing piece of art...
truly beautiful.
 
can't wait for tomorrow... it will be different?  right?

happy thursday

i fell in love today....  a few times actually.

as you know pg, my camera and i only fell in love this past fall.

so this spring is truly like brand new to me.

like i have never really experienced it until now.

as i wondered thru my yard with the sun warming my body.....

camera in hand....

and i looked for 'spring'

i fell in love with just the experience...

then i fell in love with the budding lilacs....

and the green grass....

'sigh' of true gratitude.

my life is forever changed.

the earth is sooo extraordinary.

a gift from above...for sure...

we found several old houses, and some lovely ponds and lots of geese...  and some fabulous fence.
