happy texture-twice-triptych-tuesday, dear kim!
i say twice, because i couldn't decide between the black and white version ... or the sepia version ...
from your collection, i used your brilliant 'distress' texture twice on both ...
and in the end decided a triptych was the way to go ... :)
: : :
black and white recipe
. change the mode to grayscale
. curve adjustments a pinch
. add 'distress' texture layer . difference with 43% opacity . layer mask soft brushing out bits of the chair
. add another 'distress' texture layer . multiply with 67% opacity . layer mask hard brushing out chair
original with slight curve adjustments ...
sepia recipe
. slight curve adjustments on background layer
. adjustment layer hue/saturation . -78 saturation
. adjustment layer 82% sepia photo filter
. add 'distress' texture layer . soft light . 100% opacity . layer mask brushing out bits of the chair
. add another 'distress' texture layer . soft light . 100% opacity
. i did not change the colour of the texture layers ~ they were perfect as is ...
i rotated the second 'distress' texture layer in both instances to create more texture in the top right corner ...
: : :
although the texture may be named 'distress', i used it on this old woven rocker to give the feeling of 'de-stress' ~ *wink* ...
it sits by a sunny window in my studio, just waiting for someone to come by and rock away the day ...
any time my dear ...
any time ...
*smile*

hi, girls!
missing you!
pg, this is just wonderful! really really nice use of textures! perfect photo to use them on.
You've taken a beautifully lit and composed photo and created a gorgeous work of art! Thank you for sharing your technique. I play around with textures but I have so much more to learn and this will take me another step closer to better images!
