aww ... your skinny stockings all hung by the chimney with care are adorable, kim!

they made me smile so ... especially as they reminded me of a christmas story i was reading about the pioneer days and how a simple christmas orange in the toe of a stocking would bring incredible glee to the recipient ...

seeing your stocking makes me imagine the anticipation of reaching that sweet, sweet orange at the end ... oh, at the very, very end of one of those loooong skinny stockings ~ what a worthwhile reach it would be!

thank you as well for the most thoughtful gift of affirming kindness from kind over matter ... as i commented to those lovely folks, it could make such a difference in a day to have one of those reminders tucked into our mittens to remind us of what really matters in this crazy ol world ...

sooooo ... with the slight warming outdoors today, i took the opportunity to wrap a festive ribbon about the pole of my little birdhouse thingy outside the studio ... you'd laugh as i did have to lock the kitty door while i did my deed, as i could see in ollie's eyes the temptation to race after me and tangle himself in the ribbon as i tried to put it up ... so far, he is just eyeing it from the window ...

hmmm, now let's see ... what shall we listen to while decking the halls ...

2bbb twelve days of christmas

on this, the third day of christmas, my friend i give you ...

music for you ... far reaching ...

since 1981 canadian native songwriter and singer tom jackson has been singing for supper across canada  raising astounding amounts for foodbanks from coast to coast to coast ... in a great effort to eradicate the senseless hunger in this country ...

initially i believe this event was called the huron carol which gives me goosebumps when i hear tom sing it ... especially the throat singers breathing at the beginning ... i hope you enjoy this bit of hauntingly beautiful traditional music while decking your halls, kim ~ we are so blessed ...
